As Freemasons, members of the Waitemata Lodge share the enjoyment of participating in a charitable and philanthropic organisation in a friendly, convivial atmosphere. This offers a unique opportunity to meet other people from all walks of life and parts of society who share a common interest regardless of their religious or political preferences. As Masons, we meet as equals, regardless of what job we do or where we live.
Masonic ceremonies are an integral part of our activities. Although based in very ancient tradition, the principles portrayed are very relevant to today’s society. By participating in these ceremonies and presenting them as well as we can, we also enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.
Equally important is the charitable aspect of Freemasonry. From very ancient times it was traditional for Masons to look after each other. More recently our charitable activities have been expanded to help and support people in need who are not connected with Freemasonry.
In the social part of our meetings we enjoy dinner with a high standard of catering, refreshment and informal discussion. Many members find this the most enjoyable part of our activities!
We welcome visiting Masons and enquiries from anyone who would like to learn more about Freemasonry or the Waitemata Lodge.
